Pictured here, minus one more child sibling, Hitch is settling in nicely to his loving forever home.
Nona and her foster brother, and CDT alumni, Gentle Ben, take a break from their weekend to catch a sunbath.
Gentle Ben: Hey, how's it going?
Nona: Good, I'm just laying here, chillin'.
Gentle Ben: Sweet.

The shelter is a loud, stinky, scary place for many animals especially puppies. We rescue a lot of puppies because they are more susceptible to disease and therefore possibly death. Also since the future development of the animals behavior is determined by its experiences as a puppy we believe that every pup deserves the chance to grow up in a loving home.
Thanks to our supporters, like you, we are able to pull more dogs each year!

At the Dog Days of Summer event in support of Greenfield-Hancock Animal Management on August 16, 2014. Music brought to you by the Ultraviolet Blues Band.
A huge thank you to our supporters, foster homes and everyone that participated in our recent Facebook auction. All the the funds that we raise goes directly to rescuing Pit Bulls.
Scout's forever family met her at our 2014 Ride to Rescue and went straight home and put in their adoption application. We're so happy to have found the perfect match for this lovely pup.
We were fortunate to have homes available to rescue 4 puppies. The mother died in birth and the pups spent their first night in an incubator.
Vinnie was the first dog adopted from the June Canine Express run. He was only on the Coastal Humane adoption floor for six hours! Not only is his forever family active they have a canine buddy for Vinnie. We send a huge thank you to the Canine Express and all participating rescues/shelters.
Zena had a lump from her side removed, we're still waiting for the test results to come back. Here she is (on the left) basking in the sun with foster sisters Lucy and Bella.
