Phoebe
September 30, 2015 update:
Phoebe left us this morning for the Rainbow Bridge, please send positive energy to her foster family. We rescued Phoebe in July, a stray from the shelter, estimated 9 years old, bred many times and showing signs of age and neglect. Unfortunately X-rays showed extensive cancer throughout her chest and abdomen. The veterinarians told us Phoebe likely wouldn't make it to be adopted, but with the support of her foster family at least she has known love and compassion in her final days. So while it is sad Phoebe is has left us, our hearts should be warmed by the knowledge that she will no longer be in pain and has been surrounded by loved ones at the end. We wish all shelter dogs on the rescue-only list were so fortunate.

We met Phoebe at our June Kennel Enrichment Day of Service at Indianapolis Animal Care & Control. This gal came into the shelter as a stray and was on the rescue-only list because of her medical issues. Everyone fell in love with Phoebe's sweet, calm behavior and were overjoyed to have a foster home available to rescue her.
Phoebe will have a series of vet visits to determine our course of action to help this pup be the healthiest and happiest pup she can be!
