Name: Maverick
Gender: Male
Estimated Date of Birth: September 5, 2015
Size: 45lbs
Color: Fawn and white
Maverick was adopted in early 2016, and he was returned to the rescue in 2017 through no fault of his own. He was originally rescued from a local shelter partners as a small, single, abandoned puppy. At such a young age and small size it is sometimes difficult to determine what a dog will look like as it grows, and Maverick was identified as a pit bull mix. A year later he has an appearance that is not common in bully breed mixes. Regardless of looks, we have accepted Maverick back into the rescue and we hope to find him the right home for his size and temperament. His original adoptive home had a lot of activity with pre-adolescent children, which made Maverick excitable. As a young, energetic pup, we don't blame him for wanting a fun energy outlet.
Maverick does well at Doggie Daycare, and likes the company of other dogs. He loves walks, is crate trained, and really enjoys a good chew toy. We think Maverick will do well in a home with a little guidance and training, but he is probably too active for small children. Maverick is currently on Prozac, and is responding well to his rehabilitative training. He is smart, active, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines. He will make a good companion animal and is loving and affectionate.
