Dallas came into our rescue as a puppy saved during the Ohio 200 dog fighting raid. Casa del Toro volunteers assisted with the enrichment, recovery and rescue of these victims. Dallas and other Ohio 200 dogs still live within many of our personal homes.
Dallas was adopted in 2010. When her owner moved out of state (to CO where pit bulls are banned) we agreed to allow a friend of a friend adopt Dallas. Imagine our surprise then in May 2014 we received a call from a Good Samaritan who found sweet Dallas wandering the streets. Unfortunately, Dallas jumped the Good Samaritan's fence before we arrived to pick her up. So we printed and posted lost flyers in the area she was last seen, but even with the help of Indy Lost Pets Alert, we did not find her.
Fast forward three months and this gal just walked right into a Walgreens to find help! Again, we were called and this time our volunteers sped over to pick her up. Thank you to the staff of the Walgreens at 10th & Lasalle for keeping Dallas safely in their break room until we arrived.
Dallas was adopted by her last foster home after having recovered from surgery and multiple cold-lazer therapy treatments to her legs. She can rest her head easy now and know she is safe!
